Opening and foundation ceremony in Daesan-Myeon
The opening ceremony of the Altar Chapel for the Blessed Gu Han Seon Thaddäus in Daesan.
On the 29th of October 2016, we had the pleasure to assist to the official opening
of the Masterplan project in Daesan, welcoming the visiting Diocese of Graz-Seckau,
together with the Diocese of Masan and the church community in Daesan.
The project mainly consists of four architectural interventions on site.
The first design realization has been the Exterior Altar Chapel in the name of the Blessed Gu Han Seon Thaddäus. The second was the interior renovation of the existing Catholic Church ground floor chapel. Following the exquisite coffee-house next to commemorative wall by the entrance of the garden.
The initial and overall frame was the landscape design realized in collaboration with landscape architect Lee Yoon-Jeong.
"Under the open sky", "Minimal Art" and the concept of "New definition" were three main relationships during the architectural design development.
In hope that this urban space embodies an architecture that brings peace and consolation and functions as a space of being together, healing body and soul in the natural environment of the countryside in Daesan-Myeon.
